About us
In April 2024, our newly established research laboratory was launched. Within the Environmental Energy Group, we are collaborating with Professor Kanbara’s laboratory. While biomass is categorized as a renewable energy source and waste as a recyclable resource, their social positions differ significantly. However, they share common characteristics regarding combustion and gasification as solid fuels. Therefore, this laboratory focuses on high-temperature energy conversion processes based on the combustion and gasification of various solid fuels.
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 is an urgent imperative. However, we must ensure that no one is left behind due to the rapid social changes associated with this goal. To that end, it is essential to swiftly establish infrastructure to support a zero-carbon society, utilizing technologies such as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) and other carbon fixation techniques. Proposing concrete systems to achieve this remains the mission of university researchers in the field of process systems engineering.
